Trading in the Ducati shares have been suspended which has sparked strong rumours that the major shareholder, Investindustrial, is about to take over the whole company.
The plan is to pay US$ 670 million for Ducati, and take back into private ownership. They currently own 29% of Ducat. The takeover could happen as early as next week.
Shades of equity firms taking compaines private and breaking them up the "add value"? Who knows? Not sure whether the parts of Ducati would be worth greater than the whole package.
One thing is for sure, the top brass may come and go, and the company may have had more owners than Paris Hilton has made sex tapes, but Ducati motorcycles have been and will continue to be at least in the forseeable future, some of the best motorcycles in the world, if not the best.
