The Story of Custom Bike Builder Eddie Trotta and Thunder Cycle Designs

Fort Lauderdale-based thunder cycles designs, owner and president Eddie Trotta has been building custom motorcycles for more than 30 years. At the age of 16, he built his first shovelhead chopper the while working at East coast Choppers in New Haven, Connecticut.

Eddie is now recognized as one of the top custom bike builders in the world. An accomplished pianist, Eddie studied music before relocating to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the early 1970s.

Over the years, his business and personal interests has involved him in many types of racing. He owned thoroughbred race horses and has won over 100 races. In 1991, Eddie began his career in the motorcycle industry when he opened Thunder Cycle Designs. In less than 10 years, Eddie Trotta has become one of the preeminent custom bike builders in the world.

His work is sought-after by well to do clients, athletes and celebrities. Thunder Cycles is distinguished by their choppers, which are regularly featured in numerous publications. Thunder bikes have been showcased on the covers of 15 national magazines and counting.

In 2001 and 2002, Eddie was featured as one of only four Camel Roadhouse builders, unquestionably the best of the best. The quality and uniqueness of these bikes has also led to the production of a full line of Thunder Cycle parts and accessories.
